NEW Svantek SVAN 958A Four Channels Sound - Vibration Meter and Analyzer
SVAN 958A Class 1 Four-channel Sound & Vibration Analyser is dedicated for all applications that require simultaneous class 1 sound and vibration assessment. Each of four input channels can be independently configured for sound or vibration detection with different filters and RMS detector time constants giving users an enormous measurement flexibility. The real advantage of SVAN 958A is the capability to perform advanced analysis simultaneously to the level meter mode. In practise this allows the user to obtain broad-band results such as Leq, RMS, LMax, LMin, LPeak together with four-channel analysis like FFT or octave band analysis.

Building Vibration Mode VELOCITY and ACCELERATION
The building vibration mode offers simultaneous VELOCITY and ACCELERATION measurements with the automatic indication of a DOMINANT FREQUENCY. Depending on an application, each channel can be independently configured e.g. one tri-axial and one mono-axial vibration sensor or four microphones etc.
Frequency analysis an irreplaceable tool for sound & vibration engineers
Depending on an application frequency analysis can be more or less detailed. Thanks to its powerful computing processor, SVAN958A Four Channels Meter can perform very sophisticated 4-channel frequency analysis such as 1/1 or 1/3 octave, FFT or FFT cross spectrum.
Measurement Applications
Building and ground vibration DIN 4150-3 and VC curves measurements
The most recognizable standards for structure vibration measurements are ISO 4866, British BS 7385-2, and German DIN 4150-3. All these three standards use Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) method and FFT to define the Dominant Frequency. The BUILDING VIBRATION mode in SVAN 958A offers simultaneous VELOCITY and ACCELERATION measurements with the automatic indication of a DOMINANT FREQUENCY.
Sound measurements
20 kHz-band sound
SVAN 958A is an unique four-channel instrument offering 20 kHz-band sound & vibration analysis. Instrument is capable to perform advanced analysis simultaneously to the level meter mode. Building acoustics
Measurements in accordance to ISO 16283
The instruments for measuring building acoustics shall meet the requirements for a Class 1 instrumentation in accordance to IEC 61672-1. The ISO 16283 standard series takes in consideration: airborne sound insulation of two spaces adjacent and belonging to different residential units, airborne sound insulation through façades compared to external noise and impact sound insulation of floors.
Machine vibrations
Measurements in accordance to ISO 20816-1
The meter measure vibration acceleration, velocity and displacement with a required frequency weighting. The instrumentation used shall be designed to operate satisfactorily in the environment for which it is to be used, for example, with respect to temperature and humidity. Specification for instruments for measuring vibration severity is given in ISO 2954 and instruments for measuring shaft vibration are specified in ISO 10817-1.
